  • Abstract submission deadline: February 15, 2024 (CLOSED)

  • Acceptance notification: March 15-16, 2024

  • Full paper submission deadline: May 1, 2024

    • For the 2024 ATRS Lisbon conference, the Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute (JTTRI) is sponsoring US$ 1,000 for a special best paper award on a single topic “Sustainability.” All full paper submissions on topics such as (not limited to) COVID-19 pandemic, carbon neutrality and other environmental issues qualify. The selection process for this award will be like that of the annual ATRS Best Paper Award.

    • Full paper submission is not required to present accepted papers at the conference.

    • Full paper submission is required for the consideration of the best paper and best student paper awards. The conference papers submitted will be shared with the 27th ATRS World Conference Delegates.

Aims and scope of JATRS

We are happy to announce that the Journal of the Air Transport Research Society (JATRS) has moved to Elsevier and that the first two issues are now available for download from their website! With the generous support from the publisher, we provide the community with an open access outlet covering all aspects of air transport research, across a wide range of domains (including economics, engineering, law, management, operations, and planning) and sectors (airlines, airports, aircraft, and air traffic management). The Open Access submission fee has kindly been waived by Elsevier for the first two years. Through our streamlined editorial flow and committed editorial board, we offer a constructive, efficient peer review system. We aim to keep turn-around times for each manuscript below four weeks, enabling the swift dissemination of air transportation research.
